Hanan Rahman is a freelance horn player based in New York City. She is a member of the Sinfonietta (formerly the Broadway Sinfonietta), the Sugar Hill Salon Artistic Collective, the Egalitarian Brass chamber ensemble, and the Washington Heights Chamber Orchestra, and has performed as a guest musician with Frisson Ensemble, Sound Off! Music for Bail, and the Brooklyn Chamber Orchestra. She frequently performs with orchestras throughout the northeast, including the New Haven Symphony, Allentown Symphony, Symphony in C, Greenwich Symphony, Cape Symphony, Northeast Pennsylvania Philharmonic, New Bedford Symphony, York Symphony, and Ridgefield Symphony, where she holds the position of Fourth Horn.

Hanan's recent engagements include Barbie: The Movie in Concert at the Hollywood Bowl, a sold-out run of Avatar: The Last Airbender In Concert at the Kings Theatre, the world premiere of the opera ICELAND at La Mama Experimental Theatre Club, and the world premiere production of Other World at the Delaware Theatre Company. Other recent highlights include performing Ligeti's Hamburg Concerto for four natural horns and solo horn at Schloss Grafenegg (Austria), a Carnegie Hall subscription concert featuring Audra McDonald, and recording for the Netflix film Shirley (2024).

She has held fellowships at summer festivals across Europe and the US, including Lucerne Festival, Spoleto Festival USA, Grafenegg Festival, Orchestre de la Francophonie, Festival Napa Valley, Mostly Modern Festival, National Music Festival and Marrowstone Music Festival. She received a Bachelor of Music in Horn Performance and a B.A. in Mathematics and Computer Science at Boston University, and had further studies at the Manhattan School of Music and University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She has studied abroad at the Royal College of Music in London, and attended masterclasses at the Royal Danish Academy of Music and the Voksenåsen Music Academy in Norway. Her teachers include Frøydis Ree Wekre, Michelle Baker, Bernhard Scully, and Eric Ruske.
